Day at the Museum (Day 5)
Today the kids and I did our work early and headed out to the Muscatine History and Industry Center Museum. We had a blast learning about how Muscatine was once the Pearl Button capital of the world by leading the world in production of Buttons from Clam Shells. We learned about various kids of clams and how they eventually went from producing them by harvesting clams to making buttons out of plastic.
The Museum even gave us each a pearl button to keep when we left 🙂
Here’s a Collage of pics that I took while we were there.
I recommend that you click on the collage to bring it up much bigger, it looks better that way.
